Location: Remote within the United States

Compensation: Salary range of $80,000 - $125,000 per annum, depending on prior experience of the candidate. This is a contract role, anticipating 40 hours a week and renewable every six months.

About the Role:

The Test Function at VolunteerMatch is in an exciting phase. We are growing around a new set of product portfolio strategies. We are embarking on an ambitious effort to launch the next generation of products, platforms and tools to impact volunteering at scale.

We are looking for a talented, well-rounded and mission-driven Software Test Engineer, who will work with our Test lead to create an exhaustive set of User Acceptance Scenarios as well as the automated test framework for VolunteerMatch’s product suite.


  • Own feature areas of the product with guidance from Test Lead
  • Write behavior driven tests
  • Help automate BVT and EVT
  • Help automate regression testing
  • Automate currently manual test areas

  • Areas of Build and Environment verification assigned by lead

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Test Engineer, in work environments that:
    • utilize substantial Scrum processes
    • have both front- and back- end components
    • require both technical and user-empathy focus
  • Have understanding of front-end test frameworks like Selenium or any other automation tool.
  • Has understanding of Javascript or some experience working with the language.
  • Can manage the sprint work and be flexible to accommodate any changing requirements of the sprint.
  • Should have experience working with API.
  • Can read unit tests in OOP language to understand existing dev unit tests
  • Understands idempotent testing
  • Demonstrated abilities to empathize with users and keep their needs at the forefront of all you do.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Comfortable working with humility, integrity, positivity, inclusion, respect, and relationship-building
  • Interest in using your skills and energy for social good, and alignment with the VolunteerMatch mission
